My 2025 Ram with RamBoxes has black rails that greatly limit my tonneau cover options. Most tonneau products require silver rails, which cost $400 a set! Please take a look at the picture below. I want a hard folding or retractable version. What are my options?

Reach out to our vendors, they can provide options. CARID, TONNEAU FACTORY OUTLET (I got a great deal through them about a year ago), and others. You can PM them directly or go to their website.

Your prob gonna have to remove those rails and use wateva comes with wat you purchase. Especially if U want the retractable/sliding cover. But do U have the multi function rear tailgate? That gonna complicate yer choice. U def need to reach out to Vendors to see wat they can do for U.

When I had my 2012 ram box, I had a hard time finding the kit to mount the ram box tonneau cover up to it.
A maintenance guy from work looked at it, he needed a truck to move some stuff over the weekend, when I got it back, he added some aluminum spacer block to the rail, and it was perfect fit.

The OP has the Rambox option so the MFT is not a factor. The MFT only matters on non-Rambox beds because of the extra bracing on those beds. In other words, you can use any bed cover that works with the Rambox bed regardless of which tailgate you have.

Thanks to everyone for your input. I contacted a local tonneau cover installer on the Real Truck list. They informed me that the silver rails are a must if I want anything other than the OEM soft folding cover. The pricing for the rails varies greatly. The best price I have found is $172 per side from World Parts Direct. My local Ram dealers could not locate the parts in their systems.

Here’s a pic of my Retrax Power Pro MX cover on my ‘22 Longhorn 1500 for reference. Silver rails are a must and to sell your OEM cover, the buyer would need those black rails.

Birdie Boy, yeah, you definitely don’t need the power cover, the one thing you get with it though, is a bed light. Not really a big thing now with most trucks already have bed lights. Save about $800 (?) or more too.

I am running a Retrax Power Pro retractable tonneau cover on my 2017 Limited with Ram Box. I love it!! I have had it on for over 7 years now and it still looks and works like new. The Retrax Pro series is available in both power and manual. You may also want the more basic PowerTrax, which is the power version of the standard cover, which is also available in manual. The biggest difference between the standard and the pro is, the standard can support up to 300Lb of weight on it and the Pro can support up to 500lbs of weight. The slats are also wider in the Pro version than the standard, so the standard would have a bit smoother operation and coil up a little tighter in the canister. I also installed a Bedrug as well. No regrets!! Retrax also has a limited lifetime warranty but they really do stand behind their product.
