AC is only blowing around 1/2 capacity when on high. I can hear the motor changing speeds for each setting. Changed the cabin air filter and looked at the blower motor. No visible signs of blockage and the blower motor seems to be in good shape.

Any help with this is appreciated.

I noted some after market cabin filters really restrict the airflow. As mentioned above, try it without the filter to determine if a filter or door issue.

Installed a new filter straight from the dealership. Air flow is better but still not a max capacity.

Stupid question installed for proper air flow direction?

Also check cowling under hood see if restricted

You could also have a partially clogged EVAP Core (A/C) or heater core inside the plenum box causing the issue.

More of an issue with older vehicles unless you're in a dusty climate/area.

Could also be a stuck/damaged mode door and/or motor.

I replaced my cabin air filter earlier this week with a K&N filter and my air flow doubled. Mostly because it was clogged AF, but I also only had 28k on the odometer so take what you want from that. Worked very well!

I rip a hole in every cabin filter in every car I have. Mind you the air is generally clean anyhow, plus acts like a bypass, I rip a hole in one corner just to give a source of uninstructed air. That's what I do, who knows if it is a good idea, but air restriction killed my blower motor and that will happen once w/o me trying something. Remember when we had AC and no cabin filters? Been doing this for ten years :)
