I don't have any subscriptions or U-connect stuff (I don't think), but I think I need to update the nav system because it goes in circles sometimes, and can't find it's way out of the city. How can I update or replace it?

Pretty sure uconnect and nav updates are automatically done over the air several times a year. No user input required. Don't know if you can do one manually, but you can check your uconnect ver number to see if it's current.

I use android auto, you can't get anything more user friendly that's easy to use and free. Just connect your phone to the truck with a USB cord, click on android auto, type in your destination and you're on your way.
