They are stiffer, yes. Personally, I like them that way, feels a little more like a truck.

I believe BFG makes their KO2 tires in a load range D in that size (about the only one that does) if you are afraid of going to E. I also believe Costco sells them, if you are looking for a decent deal (some areas, tire shops easily beat Costco, other areas, tire shops are way higher than Costco).

My Goodyears were worn out so I feel like my ride got smoother. Going from a bald car tire to a Nitto truck tire might have been the reason. I prefer the truck tires on the truck.

Nitto makes a Terra grappler G2 116 load rating ( not to be confused with the same tire E rated 10 ply also) which is exactly the same SL load rating as the OE Good Years and are and 34.09 tall and only weigh like 47 lbs. I am going to sell my 35-12.50-20 KO2s. No way does a half ton need 10 ply tires especially a size that has no sidewall height to speak of as on a 20" or larger wheel with only a 34 or 35" tire.

Edit: I also prefer truck tires on a 4x4 truck but more importantly I prefer 4wd vehicle type wheels not 20" wheels that look like they belong on a ricer or a road racer. Something useful for off-road with some sidewall would be more practical like in a 17".

I have Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs in that size and ply. A little firmer of a ride, but not harsh. When they need replacing, it will be the same size and ply again. This is a truck, not a car.
