I'm thinking I would like another inch lower. How do I get that out of my Belltech 2/4 without throughing everything out again?
What's the best way?

I JUST did this this weekend with a Belltech kit. Took a half coil off the bottom of the front, then a coil and a half off the top in the back. You'll need to modify the bump stops as well. I'm banging on mine in the back. The Belltech Street Performer shocks are WAY too soft. You can collapse them EASILY by hand, it's ridiculous.

Did you put your stock ones back on? Soft shocks would not help a wobble issue. Makes me wonder...

I used the supplied belltech front and rear bump stops. If you don't cut your springs at all and leave it 2/4, you'll be fine. However, if you cut the front and rear, you have to modify the bump stops to accommodate the difference. The front, I removed 2 rings off the stops. The rear, removed an inch and a half which leaves almost no material to bounce off.

What size tires are you running?

275/55/20

I didn't measure, I went back and cut more off the back as I hate the raked look. I'd say it's at 3/5.5-5.75. I have problems in the back now though.

^^^ Air lift helper bags may help you if you bottom out. They fixed my bottoming out but I also found out I didn't have any bump stops when I installed the bags. No wonder it hit hard at times. Idk if the shop I had lower the truck forgot to install them or not, but the bags alone have stopped it.

So far in the back, I've taken 2.25 coils off the Belltech. 0.75 more than what many others have done. I haven't seen any issues like the control arms banging on each other or anything, only thing is the bump stops. Also on the drivers side, removed half of the bracket that holds the rear brake line in place on the lower control arm as it would have hit the upper control arm under compression.

The belltech shocks are too weak. I think even the spring is too weak. Having to add a helper bag is just cheap in my opinion. Not saying people are cheap, saying that if a company sells a kit that is so weak you have to "help it," that's ridiculous.

I personally hate any bag of air on a vehicle, unless you're doing it for show purposes. They leak and have too many potential problems. A good shock seems to be the hassle free fix to me.

$100 for 2 air balloons, $150 for new shocks if you're dropped beyond 3".. Might as well get QA1 shocks for $300 and adjust it to how you like it, one time, and be done.

CrownSuspension makes a 4" drop spring for the back that isn't progressive and looks to be thicker than Belltech / McGaughy's.

I cut 1/2 a coil up front for 3" and 1.5 for 5.5-6ish drop

Bump stops I used the supplied front ones in the back and bought the 1 1/4 ones I think for the front

Shocks I have qa1 all around had to modify them to fit they are not a bolt on ready shock but nothing to extreme just change a couple parts to fit

Cut my end links to reposition the sway bars plan on making/buying adjustable ones one day

And adjusted my pan hard bar a little bit more

All in all rides good

And Mr. Rembret I did coat the ends cut with a little clear coat

How did you mount the threaded bump stops supplied for the front in the back? You can't push them through the hole, and there is no opening to get a nut to the thread. Do you have a pic?

Are the QA1's stiff enough to prevent 1.5"-2" wheel travel?

I cut the cup off off the back and welded a nut plate to the existing center hole and screwed them on or you can drill a hole on the top big enough to fit the nut and driver you use

The shocks have 18 setting to choose from as stiff as you need/want them or as soft me I keepine to the higher end as I like the stiffer ride so basically yes to that question it will still bottom on huge bumps but still good

Joe, did you get the compression and rebound adjustable or just compression?
