3.6 Engine Updated

I dont know much about the 3.6 engine but it is getting an overhaul. Power will be up from 290HP-295, it will be direct injected, have an EGR, and its torque below 3k rpm has been increased by 15%

Depends on what it is in. In the rams and challenger/charger its 305 hp when they throw it in a fwd configuration like caravan/journey et cetra its derated a bit

In my '14 two door Wrangler, it is rated at 285 horses. Isn't that crazy, 285 horses in a little Wrangler? The first time I romped on it, it thought "This thing is scary fast". It is a Jeep.....

Even with the 285X17 Goodyear Duratrac tires, and an inch lift, and 3.73 gears, it will get an honest 20.8 mpg.

It does the Adaptive Driving Thing, even tho it's a manual. So every once in a while I turn on the key without starting the engine, and mash the accelerator to the floor a few times before starting it. It's noticeably snappier then.

That 3.6 is a great engine. I love mone.

It's not getting direct injection. The biggest additions are the variable valve lift, EGR cooler, upgraded variable valve timing and a new intake manifold. The Pacifica is the first vehicle that will be getting the new 3.6. The old 3.6 or pentastar classic as its now called, will still be used for awhile.

The first vehicle getting the updated pentastar is the new Pacifica. Haven't heard anything about when/if other vehicles will be getting it. The current
Pentastar is still going to be used for several years.
