Going to change mine out this summer. Need some advice. I've only ever changed plugs once on my old truck. Is it easy on this vehicle? I'm going to go with the best, as spending 5$ extra per spark is worth it for longevity to me: NGK Iridium ix. My issue is there is a discrepancy between the manual and the plug. Manual says I need 0.043 in [1.1 mm]) gap and NGK says 0.044 in gap. Am I splitting hairs here? Would there be a difference?

Lastly, is there anything else that needs to be done when changing the sparkies? Coils? Wires? I'm assuming they are in good shape, the truck had 100000 km on it.

The plugs don't require changing until 100,000 miles or 160,000 km so you are doing them early. You will need to remove the upper intake to get at them. IMO I would change the coil boots with new and dielectric grease them. Here is a write up on how to do it but I would use OEM plugs to do the job myself.

It looks like this write up was done on a 3.6 in a minivan so the motor is sideways but otherwise it should work for you.
