welcome! post a pic of your ride!

anyway, are you sure the slant 6 manual will be able to handle the 440 power? I think 81 was still the A833 but not sure. either way, as far as I can remember, not all A833 were the same. the ones behind V8s were made a bit beefier. for 100% correct info, I'd check in with Passon Performance. Jamie Passon is the king of A833s.

since it is a full swap maybe consider the NV4500 5 speed? I was going to go that way until I disassembled the clutch/brake pedal assembly. my clutch pedal linkage 'hole' was ovalized and no good. ended up going 46rh auto instead.

Motor mounts you might have to hunt around. not much is made for the red-headed step children dodge trucks from 72-93. I've seen mounts for the 400 (6.6L) but no 440s. if they are the same/similar blocks (like the 318 and 360) then that might work. otherwise, like any good mopar project, get out your plasma cutter and welder, you might need to make some custom mounts.

good luck and have fun!

It's doable, but you will need to google around to find all that is needed. I have not found a one stop list for everything needed though.

the four speed you have will work just fine. you can search ebay to find a original big block bellhousing, the bolt pattern will be the same. not sure about where to find the motor mounts. flywheel and clutch kits can be had from summit, etc. probably going to have to go aftermarket with the radiator, the stock one wont cool enough. best of luck, post progress pics

I've borne witness to others chasing bits and pieces for bigger engine swaps. What a costly PITA.

That's why after I picked up my 400B core to build... I picked up a whole rusty W300 truck (400 & 4speed).
