I have a 3.7l v6 6 speed manual 1500 2wd. Its lifted 4.5 inches and right now sitting on 33s with the stock 3.21 gears. Im right around 2000 rpms @ 70mph. Im needing new tires soon so I am considering going up to 35s. I know I can fit the 35s but my main question is can the v6 handle such large tires even with a higher gear? And what gear would be best? I feel like 4.10s would be a good option but has anybody run this set up (v6 with 35s)? Any and all input is appreciated. Thanks.

I don't believe I have ever seen a V6 with 35's... Even with 33's for that matter...

Now I am curious as to why you would want to lift and Put 35's on 2WD ?

Also you need to validate what you are going to do with the truck?

I don't think you would be towing with V6, maybe a small light trailer rig for some lawnmower can be done done, but what is the use of the truck? Highway, City, Daily driver, commuter, Work rig, do you load the bed with tools, materials, how heavy, etc...

These information will help us guide you with what would be the ideal setup you can look for.

As a side note I would be curious to know what kind of MPG's you are getting with the current setup you have?

Lots of 2wds are lifted. Whether they're light trail riders, or street princesses. Cheap and easy to lift. Les breakable parts. I think a v6 on 35s would be sweet. I'm sure it will be enough power to push them, you see jeeps on 35s and 37s, it'll be doggy and slow with the 3.21. Not sure how the v6 would react to a regear. Let us know how it goes haha!

You're gonna need 4.56's with that setup, especially since the 3.7 is a HORRIBLE truck engine, you have to get the revs a ways up to get into the powerband.

He's already at 2k at 70 with 3.21s and 33s. I'm guessing his motor would be screaming with 4.56s. If it was an auto trans id say 4.56 all day, being manual I'd give 3.92 or 4.10 a shot

Anything under 4.56s will be an absolute dog for a 3.7. My truck is a hemi with 3.92s and 35s, and even it isn't a huge fan of hills. I'd hate to see a 3.7 with 35s with anything less than 4.56s try to tackle a mountain on the highway. Yeah the revs will be higher at higher speeds but that's the best way to get that motor to move all that weight.

Remember he is going from 33s to 35s which will drop the rpms some compared to if he stayed with 33s

Alright I know this thread has been dead for a while but I'm running 35s in the 3.7 and have 3.55s moving up gears when I get the funds but the 3.7 has no issues at all turning this thing.
I can enjoy my own smoke show if I really want but the 3.7 and 3.55 will move the tires and get up and go but I do suggest moving up gears as well I know I am 4.56 with a Detroit locker as soon as I can
