well getting around to upgrading the sound in my ram . My question is with doing a set of 3 way components so 1" tweets in the sails and 6.5 in the door and 3.5' in the dash stock location passive but would love to try active powered . my budget is 2-3k for everything I will have a single 12" sundown sa12 with 1k powering it in a vented box so just the mid and ho set up . In my last ram I did a set of Rockford t3652 powered by a Hertz 4ch bridged and it was ok but I wand better lol

3-way is the way to go. With active, you'll have a channel per speaker and make sure your dsp has enough channels as well...each channel (speaker) can be tuned independently.
I personally feel a 3-way is easier to tune than a 2-way....with a 3-way, you won't be asking a speaker (say, midbass) to play frequencies that the speakers is uncomfortable playing...midbass will have a small window of frequencies to play, midrange same deal, tweeters, same deal....all speakers will be comfortable and set up for success so to speak

yes it makes sense I was looking at the new Morel Maximo ultra 603's or the Hertz esk 163l.5 not a whole lot of choices for 3 ways thanks for the input

There are tons of 3 way options. If you want to go big, Audiofrog GB series with a kick ass amp will rock. There are also options from JL, Focal, Dynaudio, Sinfoni, Audio Development, and the list goes on.

A quality 6 or 8 channel amp (JL VXi, Zapco, Mmats) would do a good job powering all six channels. The VXi has a built-in DSP and if you get the 8 channel you can bridge two to each midbass.

Yea I agree with TomT, you have many many options. I could be wrong, but most reputable speaker manufacturers probably have a 3-way component set, OR atleast an advertised mid bass, midrange, and tweeter....maybe not in their entry level selections, but def mid-level options. You can spend a little or a lot. If you're on a budget (like most of us) I wouldn't even look at Sinfoni or Dynaudio's Esotar series....each of their speakers will cost what a nice component set costs from other manufacturers.....but man they sound good lol
Audio Frog is a great option, but I wouldn't call them affordable either....however you won't miss the money spent that's for sure!
Best of luck

my best past experience has been a set of Hertz hi energy 6.5 2way comps with a couple hundred watts going to each channel. It sounded good and got loud but I did not have any kind of eq or dsp . Gosh I really need to listen to some of these hi end speaks to see if its worth it or how much better are they , it excites me to know that better sound is possible this is why I am trying to plan this correct as to get the best set up for the cashola. I have an eye on a Zapco 6ch that is on sale as I had their 4ch and mono amp with some kind of special not rca connectors I remember there was zero noise from those amps
