No, I haven't. Good idea though. I've thought about it and made a determination that it's more an issue of the mountain terrain that I drive in. If it were a bit cheaper, I might give it a go. My son recently this week sent me a link to one, but I will pass. He sent it to me for adjusting the RPM higher for the winch use, but then my Power Wagon already does that.

https://zautomotive.com/product/tazer-ram/

The shift points are off a bit off at the lower speeds driving up and down through the mountain roads and canyon grades which are all around here. The 4% larger tire change isn't even noticeable at all on the flat city streets and highways within the cities. It seems to shift spot on.

Yea i have the tazer. It works well. If you dont want that one the procal is quite a bit cheaper I think.

Your truck raises the idle up when you use your winch? I never knew they did that from the factory. How do you make it raise the idle? I like the tazer for that added feature.

Im in northern michigan, probably not much above sea level. Pretty much flat terrain for normal day to day driving. As soon as I put the 35’s on I quite driving my truck till I got a means to adjust the shift points. It was so annoying. It would upshift too soon, and was difficult to get to downshift, and when it did it did it very poorly. It makes a big difference when you get your speedo back where it should be, even when it is a small percentage off.

I think (just guessing) the truck high idles in response to the battery voltage dropping or some other way of recognizing high load on the electrical system, not something you can turn on/off at will like the Tazer high idle. I’ve noticed that mine does it too, and I take it as a hint that it’s time for a break.

My 2016 Power Wagon winch raises the idle higher automatically. I'm winching a vehicle in while standing to the side in the front watching the cable feed and it must sense a power drain to the battery. Can hear the engine RPM increase substantially from idle. Does it every time when the cable is reeled down to just 7 to 8 remaining coils and it is a long cable to winch in.

The shift points are a bit too early which is kind of annoying, but not enough to fret over. Probably should update it this year, but being retired I have to watch my finances closely. Probably the reason why we were able to live out on some beautiful rural acreage. Having stick shifts in my other trucks I pay attention to the RPM shift points. The majority of the time the truck is utilized for towing and with the tow mode on it seems to shift at better RPM's. You actually sold me on getting it right.

For the first time in my life, I am a salesman :D

I cant remember what the RPM jumps to with the tazer as its been a bit since I used it, but something like 2500 RPM. Im sure our trucks dont go that high from the factory.

Yea, driving with the tow/haul button on will definitely help, as it does allow the truck to downshift sooner and stay in a lower gear longer.

You say impossible....I say not even close. I have done a few mods to help me out. First was I replaced that sluggish 392 motor out with the ******* turbo dodge neon engine, saved a ton of weight and left lots of extra room in the engine, took the rims and tires off so rolling on rotors, took out all the seats and added a milk crate, and a 6 gallon shot of nos....I know u guys are jealous

When I was winching a medical delivery commercial van which continued to get itself stuck in several bad (tilting) situations in the snow I had the Power Wagon in low range. The RPM is a bit higher than in high range. 750 RPM versus 650. Definitely not 2,500.

This is my guess too due to mine does the same. The winch yanked out a loaded medical supply commercial van twice from tilting/rolling over into a frozen creek ditch in two different locations. There was only short cycles of time where I gave it a break due to the severe winter weather heavy snow conditions were only making the situation worse.

Since the winch and the engine RPM works fine, I ordered the AEV ProCal to adjust for my larger over stock tire diameter vs the Tazer.

I wonder if the OEM idle up feature is related to which alternator setup you have. I noticed my truck idle up on its own once while jump starting a dead car, but never while winching. Of course, I ordered my truck with the dual alternator option because of the extreme load a winch puts on an electrical system, so it could just be that my alternators are producing so much power that the truck doesn’t NEED more, so it doesn’t idle up quite as easily. I do admit I wish I had the idle up feature that the diesels have. It doesn’t make a lot of sense that they removed it on our trucks.

Found a 35" tire with a 3 ply, 3 mountain peak snowflake winter rating, and it's Load Range E.

https://tirereviewsandmore.com/pit-bull-pbx-at-hardcore-reviews/

Sticking with the ST Maxx for an all year tire. More availability with the purchasing of it. Due to having lots of mud around here one really needs an even a more aggressive tread pattern like the STT Pro or Toyo M/T this time of the year.

Is there a required load rating for power wagon tires? I ordered km3's 35x12.50r17 but had no idea about the tire load rating. Now I'm going to dealer for them to be installed in the morning. I'm having all kinds of buyers remorse with these tires because I don't fee like I did my research prior to buying the tires.

So, anyone have any input on these tires fitting on 2018 PW and what I need to do to check what load rating they are prior to install?

Thanks everyone.

I would only run a load E tire. I tow with the truck and i have had D rated tires on it and it wasnt anywhere near as stable as with the E rated tires. Just my experience. Others might be different.

What is the load rating on the KM3?

I run the K02s, i know they come in a bunch of different load ratings.

If the tires were never mounted you should be abke to exchange them.
