Well, I followed this thread all the way through but still didn’t find the answer to my 35” tire question. Of course there was lots of other good info to be had. Anyway, to my question. I’m ordering a ‘19 PW soon, or a ‘20 if I dilly dally enough. Before I even get it off the lot I want to put 35s on it. But, will 35” spare fit in the spare tire holder under the bed? Even if deflated to 15-20#? A quick and easy yes or no will suffice. Thanks, and love the forum.

Yes. I have a 35 inch KO2 under the bed w/ 35-40 psi in it.

There are some minor changes under the ‘19s, and I have not heard for sure that someone has successfully put a 35” under theirs yet. If they made it any tighter, there is no way. If its the same or has more room then the pre ‘19s, then its doable (certain tires need to be deflated a bit).

A true 35" tire varies depending on the manufacturer. A BFG KO2 35 12.50R17 is listed as 34.5" OD and their 315 70R17 is 34.4". A Toyo M/T 35 12.50R17 is 34.8". Just 3/10" to 4/10" of an inch larger in diameter appears to make a difference for some folks in getting the spare tire easily mounted underneath on the 2014 to 2018 models. My son runs the Toyo tires in the 34.8" size on a 18" wheel and is unable to mount the spare under his 2014 Ram 2500 Cummins.

I'm running five 285 75R17 Cooper ST Maxx tires which are listed as 34.06". The spare fits firmly against the two sides rails and is shoved against the rear fully inflated on my 2016 Tradesman PW. Not a whole lot clearance up front for the suspension/sway bar travel, but it clears it.

On a different note due to living in snow country (27 feet last season) and quite happy with the ST Maxx performance under severe winter conditions, I might go to the Cooper ST Maxx 305 70R18 size with a new set of 18" wheels for the next set of tires. The tires are listed as 35.08" OD. Now that's a true 35", not a 34" plus some extra tenths of an inch.

From what I have read, the tailgate will be an option later in the year. They already have 110 outlets in the ramboxes. And even if they do put 35’s on (dont hold your breath), they will probably be junk ones and something worth upgrading anyway.

I plan on putting a shell/cap on the bed so a Ram Box is probably not compatible. As for the junk 35s, I’m assuming that they will be junk tires but at least I’ll have wheels for any upgraded tires I get. Where did you get the info regarding upgraded tailgate?

You say impossible....I say not even close. I have done a few mods to help me out. First was I replaced that sluggish 392 motor out with the ******* turbo dodge neon engine, saved a ton of weight and left lots of extra room in the engine, took the rims and tires off so rolling on rotors, took out all the seats and added a milk crate, and a 6 gallon shot of nos....I know u guys are jealous

If I knew the Neon came in a ******* turbo, I wouldn't be on this forum driving my PW. Damnit all!

Well I will update my iron man's, so I did get stuck and buried the tires up to the top of the rim. Anyways they worked well for what I was doing. I had a car hauler and suv on it. Now the downside is at about 8k I am getting some chunking. It's not bad at all, it just shows the soft compound used. Tread is still super deep and plenty of tire left. I suspect to get 25k out of them. Not bad for an $800 set of MTs. Next I plan on the falken wildpeak mts. If anyone has any reviews of this please post. Will take pictures of the tires tomorrow

I’m sure there’s some tweaks to it as well besides just the materials.

Agreed. Im just stating they claimed it was all new.

The old suspension appears to be plug and play, so they couldnt have changed it too much lol.
