You can sometimes cannibalize the two seat brackets to make 'em work. you can tell they welded up some steel to make it sit right, but in the past i've been able to take the lower half of the stock seat, and attach it to the upper half of the replacement seat for a perfect fit without the need for a welder and constant double checking to make sure you are getting everything perfect. it also allows you to maintain a stock appearing bracket. Whenever you do a seat mod its always best to have both seats (new and old) out and take a good look and plan ahead on what and how you are going to do it. Anything is possible if you can vision it, and know how everything is mounted. If someone is seriously considering swapping a third gen backseat into a second gen i would suggest to go out and look at how the third gen seats mount. if the local yards don't have one, go to some car dealerships and take a good look at how things are mounted. I've noticed that car dealerships have a better inventory than wrecking yards, so if you are just in the planning phase, they are great place to go look at things because everything is clean, easily accessible and the salesman are usually more then willing to let you really look around in a rig because they think you are seriously considering buying it the longer you look in it. just a couple suggestions for you if someone really wants to do this but can't find info. i've done it a couple times myself
