Go 4.56 gears it won't be worth the price otherwise. 3rd strike one of our vendors on here hooked me up with mine and they are amazing. Like a rocket. The ones he sold me are Nitro. Send Duane a pm and he will take care of you or go to his website 3rdstrikeperformance.com. Heath sells Amsoil on here and can sell you the gear lube you will need too.

Aren't there not 4.56 gears for the 12s yet?

While the jump to 4.10s would be an improvement, unless you're going down in tire size, 4.56s are really what these trucks need.

Unfortuately, there are no options for the 2011+ rear diffs other than factory. *rant*
My first modification was going to be 4.56s and a locker.

I thought 2011's also had 3.92 as an option.

I would suggest waiting until they are available. I will say that just because they say don't work does not mean it is true. 4.56 gears on my truck took some modifying due to how thick the ring was vs stock. They said the powertrax was not comparable too and I had that in for sometime too. I would strongly recommend 4.56 and the fact that our trucks come with anything less than 3.92 is a joke. 4.10 should be standard. Wanna save gas buy a Chevy. Also since I ideally drive 80 or less my Mileage is actually a little better on average. 13 - 15 now mostly city if I am on the highway and going 80 or less RPMs are still in the sweet spot.

yea i hate the fact that they are still putting 3.55's in these trucks, but unfortunately fuel economy is a big issue especially with ever growing government restrictions.

Hope your right, I have some 4.56's that I want to get installed, but ever since I heard they changed the rear end I don't know what to do....I'm almost tempted to just buy a 2009-2010 rear end and throw that in with my gears.

Everyone says that these gears don't fit, but I don't know of anyone who actually tried, it would be nice to find out for real, maybe the housing just needs to be ground down a little more. I'd hate to have to spend another grand on a rear end, but I'm not giving up until I have these damn things installed lol....

Faster not overall but takeoff and acceleration yes! I did it not to be fast but because I tow a lot and it really helps with getting the load moving. 3.55 gears are a real dog with 20" Rims and big tires.

I can now tow more with ease rather than having to overcome a gear that is just not right for the truck. I cannot go 150 I am sure but I can do a great job to 100 and since I will never go over 80mph in most situations I am okay with that.

Gearing really does make or break the engine. It can make a great engine seem weak or it can make a weak engine seem strong. Obviously the Hemi is a great engine so add great gears and it can do a lot for you.

3.92 gears should be bare minimum in Rams.

I really want to do the 4.56 switch, especially since I put the 35's on my ride. I'm just super worried about voiding the powertrain warranty. I know they'd have to show that the gears caused whatever problem I might have, but you all know how that will go if it comes to that. I'm already anticipating them balking at the lift (ie the lift and bigger tires caused xyz) but I'll deal with that when if it happens. I almost wish MOPAR made a set of 4.56's. Then I could get the dealer to install and be good. Too bad that would be twice the cost though.

Just neglect to tell them you had the gears installed ;)

Its not like they would be opening up your rear end :********:

If you went to 4.56's, you'd have to reflash it for speedo. My Yukon, had 3.42's and I went to a 285/50/20's on it, then added 4.11's...much better. When you add bigger tires, it's almost a must.

Rams pick up the speed after the gearbox, so the gears do not effect the speedo, only the tire size.
