Hey guys-
After months of searching I finally found my dream 1500 and traded in my old Dakota. It's a 2008 Bighorn Quadcab, with the 4.7 and 6 speed with 68k miles. Body and interior are in great shape. Those manuals are HARD to find.
Anyway, I've been driven about 2500 miles so far and started hearing a slight sound in the engine. I took it to a local shop who pulled the belt and checked everything and determined it was coming from inside the engine. They said they didn't do work inside and recommended I go somewhere else.
About two days later I got 4 codes - P0300 and P0306 (appeared twice each) - multiple misfires, misfire on Cylinder 6. Took it to another shop who said it didn't sound like a dropped rocker. They tried moving the coils around and finally "solved" the problem by swapping out both spark plugs, though sound was back nearly immediately after driving it out of their parking lot.
Anyway, curious if anybody else has had any issues similar with a knocking possibly related to a misfire. I still have a basic powertrain warranty (aftermarket take to any shop kind) on this and would love to get it taken care of and be able to possibly point a shop in the right direction.
