I'm gonna go ahead and replace my 4.7 with a long block, most likely from powertrain products. After doing some research they seem to have the best product for the money and generally very good reviews and long term reliability. Their engines are improved over the oem design flaws.
Not sure exactly when I'm doing it but definitely gonna be sooner than later.
So I am just looking for some advice and any tips on what to do or not do, any issues to look out for when doing the job. I'm going to have my mechanic do the job with my involvement (he is one of the best out there and I've been doing business with him for over 20 years or so). Aside from the standard & obvious, is there anything I should replace or address at the time of doing the job? I just don't want any problems. Swap and drive. I use the truck for work and I need it in and out and on the road asafp.
