4th Gen 2018 SPORT Tow Hooks?

I can't seem to find any videos or information here regarding installing front tow hooks on a 2018 4th Gen SPORT.

Is it even posible?
Does our sport frame even have the tow hook bolt locations?

-Ideally I'd like to buy an insert pre-cut for the hooks so I don't have to butcher my existing insert just in case.
-Which tow hooks would fit the frame?


Would prefer to do no drilling or cutting, just snap in replacement lower bumper insert with tow hook cutouts, slide the hooks in, and unscrew the frame bolts to bolt in.

Such a thing possible or exist?

Everything I’ve read you have to cut out the insert since sport models never came with tow hook option.

Argh. I typed in "Tow Hooks" in the search and it didn't have that thread which leads to other good threads! My search term was off apparently. Will look into that now thanks!

Soooo seems like a custom bracket is needed to almost even make them practical without destroying the lower bumper if you even can get the chain or rope inside the hook. The custom bracket is no longer anywhere to be bought.

Don't see custom grill inserts which I sorta thought would exist.

The factory frame hole should all be the same, buy some factory to hooks, cut holes. Now comes the part of custom, if you can find someone with a 3D printer have them make the bezels to fill the hole. or you could get some bezels of another vehicle and cut the holes to that size

This part says it fits my vehicle yet I for some reason highly doubt that based off Amazon reviews and another sites reviews. Doesn't seem to be made for my vehicle? 68196982AA

Can't figure out which tow hooks everyone is using as well.

Factory tow hooks are used just with a different custom made bracket. I have some of the original sport brackets made from ken226. I’m not sure if anyone is making brackets anymore but there was a cad sheet someone made previously to get the brackets cut from a machine shop. I can’t seem to find it. I had saved it too. They are awesome. I’ve used my hooks a few times for dragging stuff around.

That just looks like the blank filler which should be what you have already. And new tow hooks seem to be hard to find. Most likely due to the 5th generation trucks coming out. If you check ebay I saw a few sets of used hooks for around 200$ or you can see if any junkyards have 4th gen trucks with tow hooks.

This is how my tow hooks sit with the custom sports brackets. They just slide the hooks towards the outside of the truck and slightly up I believe. The hooks do fit without the brackets but I believe you have to install them faced in instead of faced out or they push the bumper face

Check now i think I fixed it.
Edit: that insert is for the metal bumpers which is a different shape and size

That looks great!!! Ahh motivation. How does the bracket not compromise the integrity of the hooks though? I would think the bracket could cause the hooks to give or bracket snap.

The bracket was designed and tested through a cad program. It’s a complete copy of the original bracket down to the mounting points. The only difference is how it adjusts the hook angle. I wish I had a better picture to show you. It’s really beefy. And I think the one I have is made out of heavier metal so it’s stronger than the factory bracket

I found the documentation in the 33 page forum had to log in to CAD website. I got the prints. Appreciate ya! Guess I'll wait to hear back from him and see if I can find non-backordered hooks and maybe even try that lower bumper cutout or return it if it don't fit.

My pops is a machinist believe it or not so will see what he thinks in the coming days (might not happen due to the busy nature or machinisting haha). Appreciate ya! The cutout is for the steel bumper so it won’t fit. They’re a different shape and size. Hopefully you find some hooks.

Yet on the websites if you find my exact vehicle specs it "FITS". Good deal I'll trust ya. Only a $30 part to replace anyway so I ain't opposed to cutting it anymore. Thanks!
