4th Gen Aftermarket Tow Mirrors - Advice

Looking at these:

Current mirrors are power glass, heated, manual fold, not tows. Given my truck currently does not have puddle or signal lights, I can assume they wont work? Can they be set to work in the ECM/BCM by the dealer?

I inquired about the temp sensor for the dash, and it is present in these housings.

Yes, you'll have to have the codes added for the flip up, turn signal, puddle lights to work.

Just codes for the signal and puddle lights right? The flip up is manual.

I would love to buy ones people have first hand experience with, but I am betting those work to $450CAD to my door. Ugh... Canada...

You need the flip up code that tells your truck which position they are in when you use the mirror switch. All flip ups are manual, some have power fold.

What do dealers usually charge to have codes changed like this? Ballpark figure. Also, do you just go to the service department, tell them you installed these mirrors and need the coded?

Cost for the dealership to add codes can be anywhere from FREE to a couple hundred bucks.... usually it's whatever an hours labor rate charge. Tell them you added the tow mirrors and need the following codes added to your truck.....

LEB - Turn Signals
LEC - Courtesy/Puddle Lamps
LEG - Correct Flipped up operation

Some dealers won't even mess with doing it....
