For the record, mine were 9005 but I have factory projectors, so quads may be 9006. Regardless, I’d triple check yours.

H8/H9/H11 (M) to 9006 (F) adapter might be what you need. Your truck is originally a quad headlight truck correct?

Correct

To the best of my knowledge 9005 is standard for all 4th gen’s. Google your year make and model to verify, then that will be the ballast you need to order. That should plug and play from the harness to the housing.

Your aftermarket housing makes the conversion from 9005 to H1. That’s where you will have to figure out how to wire an H1 HID bulb to your housing were the conversion is made, and still maintain high beam capability. So, my original point being, making the connection from your harness to your housing with the correct ballast is priority number one. Once that’s resolved, you need to figure out how to wire the bulb.

Unfortunately marrying three aftermarket parts is not easy.

I understand what your getting at. But again it’s not valid. Because all I’m using from my headlight housings is just that. The housings along with a pigtail from the proj. Solenoid. All the wiring including the plug will be removed in replacement of the hid bulb, ballast and wiring.
So I need an adapter to go from a 9005 to an H1 low beam with a pigtail split for high beam.

I get where you’re at too. I’m just visualizing the project from a different approach. Right now is the point where I wish I had your lights in front of me to help resolve the wiring lol.

Haha fair enough my friend- I’ve sent an email out to a retailer here in Canada that sells all the adapters etc. Hopefully he can chime in.
When I ordered the hid kit I ordered an H1 kit. Because my new housings took an H1 bulb. Even if I ordered a 9005 hid kit. I would still need a 9005 to H1 adapter to my projector?

My head hurts. It sucks because I live in Canada so it takes like two weeks to get **** sent here.

Right on, yeah, maybe they can help.

Again, visualizing it without anything in front of me here’s how I’m seeing it. Your plug and play housing should have two connections. One for high beam and one for low beam. From what I’ve gathered, the high beam simply trips a relay already installed in your aftermarket housing which flips a flap open to project your entire beam. If that’s the case no changes need to be made there.

Your low beam is where it gets complicated for me; trying to adapt a 9005/6 ballast to an H1 bulb.

Regardless, that’s how I visualized it.

EDIT: And come to think of it, the H1 bulb should universally plug into your 9005/6 ballast. The only reason you’d need the 9005/6 ballast is to make the connection to your factory low beam harness. Just tossing thoughts on this.

I would be i terested in beam pattern pics against a flat wall and perhaps impressions of brightness compared to stock quads if you could pretty please.

I have been seriously considering finding some lights like this as I drive 80 miles of country winding roads, no streetlights, lots of deer, wet/icy often.

All you need to do is splice the 2 prong wires that go into the headlights into the original low beams that come from the factory harness. Basically your sending the power signal to the ballast. I have a couple of builds with pictures. Let me know if u want a link.

Sure man that would be great. I ordered a set of splitters that I posted above. I think that should do what I want but would like to see your build.

Finally got it sorted out! I’ve gotta take it in to get my drls turned off. I figured the lower voltage wouldn’t fire the ballasts but it does and they flicked and go crazy haha. Works great otherwise! I just drive with my lights on all the time for now.
I had a custom harness made by ess k customs to get them to work.
