I need some help, i have a 2014 ram with 2800 miles and 4x4 has worked fine up until today. it went into 4x4 fine when i got ready to go down a snowy road but when i put it in 4 low the front tires would not spin at all. this continued for a while until i got on a different road and tried again. this time it worked and stayed in 4x4. drove in 2wd the rest of the way home until i went to go into my driveway which had a lot of snow in front of it. put it in 4x4 and went fine until i got halfway in my driveway and heard a loud pop and it went back to not spinning the front tires. 4x4 lights stay on in 4 lock and 4 low but it wont work in either. please help.

Try to rest your computer. Other wise take it back to the dealer that's what a warranty is for. Also on snow or ice unless pulling someone out there is no need for 4low.

I used 4 low just to see if it would help me get up the hill because it did the first time, but after that it stopped. I finally got the truck to stay in 4x4 long enough to get up my driveway. How long do I need to leave the battery unhooked to reset it?

10 min but if you can get to a dealer I won't reset it because they might be able to read some data to find the issue if it's softwear based. I would only reset the computer if your stuck and need the 4wd to get back out.

well i looked under the truck. looks like my cv axle came very very very loose. the c clamp was way off and i could move the cv axle all over the place. hopefully not due to my bilsteins and i wont have to get longer cv axles.

Have you tried it while the transmission on N and your feet on the break?

I did something similar when trying to pull someone stuck in sand out in 4 low. I gave it some decent throttle and heard a big bang when my cv joint boot exploded. My blisters are set at 2.1. All i did was wash the truck and take it to the dealer here in florida and they fixed it under warranty no questions asked.
