I have the same question as you ^^

Coming from the Jeep world, I'm very familiar with gear ratios vs. tire size for the dana 44's and the weak 3.8L v6 with 5 speed tanny.

Just picked up my '14 CC w/8 spd & 3.21s about a month & a half ago, and the 5.7L & 8 spd is a whole different world. I went from 275/60r20 (33") stockers to 295/60r20s (34.45") and now the truck is sluggish, along with losing about 2 mpg. I was thinking about a programmer to correct for tire size which should correct speed and mpg reading. But, it doesn't solve the sluggishness of the truck.

Looking for any experience with gear swaps from 3.21s to 3.55s or 3.92s. I'm just looking to get back to stock performance, so thinking the 3.55s could work. With the 3.21s & 33" stock tires, it was plenty peppy. I had to actually feather the throttle because I would routinely chirp the tires from a dead stop. I know it should run close to $1800, but I can't find front 3.92s or 3.55s. Only for the rear. I looked at MOE's but I must have missed them. I've seen some '13 front & rear axles for sale with 3.55s. Wondering if I should just swap them in?

From all I have read going one step up with gear swaps is not worth it (3.21 to 3.55, 3.55 to 3.92,etc). If you going to spend the money on 2012+ regearing(front and rear have to be done), might as well go two or three up to be worth the money. Especially adding larger, heavier tires.

I believe 2012+ has the front gears welded in so not an easy swap.

I'm trying to figure this one out as well. Seems like us 2013's are SOL, I considered going all eom to get it done and the parts department at the local dealers have no listings for the front!

Unfortunately, for the 2012+ Ram trucks, you would have to swap out your entire front axle assembly to swap gear ratios. Like mentioned above, the front ring gear is welded onto the carrier, so it is not as easy as simply swapping out the ring/pinion. Highest factory gear option for the 2012+ front is a 3.92. If you want to go higher than that, then you need a front axle and driveshaft from an 09-11, and then you can use any aftermarket 8" front gears and install kit.

On the rear, you can either go with the factory gears up to 4.10 or machine your factory LSD to accept an aftermarket gear. I had to use this machined rear carrier to install 4.56's in my 2011.

Looks like for the cost of the regear and options, I'm looking to just do a complete axle swap for 2012 - 2013 axles already geared to 3.92s. Unless I can get the rear 3.92s really cheap. But I've seen 2012 front diff for $600 and the rear axle complete brake-to-brake for $1000.00.

$1600 is a little more than I paid for my regear on the Jeep, but might just work for me.

Any issues I might have using 2014 CV's with the 2012 center?

Rear factory 3.92's are $399, and the bearing kit is only $95. That's the easy part.

If you can find a 2012-14 front with 3.92's, then that would be much cheaper and easier than having to do the 09-11 swap with aftermarket gears.

A tuner will change the responsiveness of the truck, it's a day and night difference vs the stock tune. Go HF custom and it'll be a whole new beast.

Thanks. I'll give it a try when I save up more of my pennies. I got the truck thinking I would save $$ versus how much I spent on the Jeep...hasn't worked that way so far.
