So I had a stuck lifter, noise went away and I assume it freed itself up. I have some valvetrain noise, goes away when the engine warms up now. Did an oil change had some filings in the oil, and done a second change since with no filings. Threw a rare earth magnet on the bottom of the oil pan to catch anything the filter didn't. Owned since new, well cared for and has always run on synthetic oil fyi. I am resigned to changing the cam & lifters.

My question to the forum is this: Is there a better profile of camshaft for towing other than stock. I use the truck primarily for dragging our travel trailer around. I was going to upgrade to the Hellcat lifters, but have read that Comp Cams says their lifters are superior to the OEM Hellcat versions... Does anyone have experience they can share?. Thanks.

@Wild one - The Red Line 5W-30 is awesome, no regrets :) She purrs like a kitten on it, only got like 600~700 miles on the new oil.
Don't thank me, thank Mike/Burla he talked me into the oil several years back, lol

As @crackerjack1957 said, I recommend, install and personally use Johnson Lifters. I have use the Johnson ST2356 Short Travel w/ Axle Oiling many times with great results. I use this lifter on majority of the HEMI's that will see alot of track duty. I can normally get these lifters from Johnson for $775.00 but a couple of other places are in the $775-$825 price range.

I have also had some solid results from the Crower HEMI lifters. I have been using this lifter for about a year now in my street motors and have not experienced a single failure or any type of lifter noise. I have two motors that I built 6 months ago that see 100% track duty and 8200rpm shifts and these have performed flawlessly.
Crower P/N: 66323PH-16 $526.06

In the grand scheme of things I believe this is a small price to pay when it comes to the longevity and reliability of my motors. I have had too many Mopar lifters make noise and collapse and it gets old pulling the heads off of the same motor over and over just to change out the lifters.

He's in Canada Fast, the lifters up here will run him right around 1500 Canuck. They might be hard to justify on a daily driver, that has a very good chance of going down the road in a few years, lol

I didn't realize he was in Canada. If that's the case then I would stick with the Mopar lifters or the Crower set which I have had a good experience with.

Thanks for the suggestion, I have to do some more searching for these lifters. I don’t mind spending the money on quality parts. I prefer to do thinks right, once. Regardless of the cost, doing it myself is in my wheelhouse having put a number of engines together over the years which will save me some $$$. I will look into the Crower’s as well. Input appreciated.

Thanks Fast, your experience is exactly what I was looking for. I don’t mind paying for quality. I travel into the US frequently. Maybe pick some up and smuggle them across the border lol.

Haha good idea. The Crower lifters are a very good street/strip lifter and they have the provision for axle oiling. If you can pick up a set in the US and save some greenbacks you'll be doing alright.

I see there’s a couple versions of the Crower lifter. Do you know the part number you used?
