Where are the engine serial numbers located, and how do I tell if it is the original engine?

The engines don’t have serial numbers. Only numbers on the block are the casting number and the displacement of the block

I guess I just have no way of knowing if this is the original motor. As long as it keeps going it doesn't really matter.
