5 speed question

Hey all I bought a 04 Dodge Ram 2500 with a manual transmission last week and I have a quick question.
it grinds when I shift into third so I am worried that It’s outta synchronization or about to go out. So I’m wondering when It comes time to replace it is it cheaper to have it rebuilt or just swap it and which transmission is in the 2004 2500 Ram 5.7 hemi it’s a 5 speed.

It is only cheaper if you do it yourself, otherwise look for a used one. Once a repair shop opens it up, they wont just replace single synchro. Read tag numbers to get the actual trans in your truck.
