I had my bils installed a couple of weeks ago and the passenger side is still half an inch higher than the driver side. Is this within specs?

From what i can see the springs are not positioned the same on both side, could that affect it?

Nice set-up! Now IMO those bottom coil resting plates as well as coil orientation should be same or mirrored exactly, not just slapped together. If its screwed up you can check for proper orientation on another Ram. At least the ring count is the same. Take it back as I believe those are progressive springs and cannot be compressed in the driveway using a strut tool. Danny

It's very common for a truck to sit 0.5" different from side to side. This could easily be effected by a fuel tank of fuel or not, any equipment you have in the truck (straps, jack, etc.) all those things. There's definitely nothing to worry about based on those pictures. The spring orientation doesn't matter in this case as the upper spring seat is formed to fit the spring as well.

Perfect! The truck drive well so I'll leave it as is

Thanks

I actually got on to ask the same thing. My passenger front sits ~.5" higher than my drivers side. It is driving me crazy. Looking at it from the side I can see a noticeable difference.

One thing I have noticed is the front feels "loose" when going over bumps. Ideas?

Yeah again this weekend when looking at the truck I noticed it and it's still bugging me

The truck feel very solid overall, so other than the look I don't think there's an actual problem.

I am curious if you have your Bils set to 2.1" or 2.8"? Mine are set at 2.1" and I am kind of thinking of taking them up to 2.8" if it will make it sit higher and solve the uneven issue(not sure HOW this would help but maybe worth a shot). Honestly I am not entirely happy with the 2.1" but don't want to risk breaking anything.

I'm wondering if I can use my spring compressor to loose the spring with them still on the truck to see if they sit properly at the top.

I don't think you will break anything going to 2.8, but I don't think it will help solve the problem.

I still can't figure out if each spring are designed for their side. All I can find is identical part # so I don't think they do.

They are installed correctly. Whatever the problem is (if there is one), it is not with the bilsteins.

@bassheadhemi , sir i agree with the folks saying your install is correct Sir .
As for going to +2.8" , I've been at +2.8" for approximately 14,500 miles ZERO issues for me .

.5 " difference I to believe this is not uncommon , mine is about 3/8 " higher on the drivers side .

Not sure on (front) coils being side spacific , when I installed my bills I kept them on there original sides as I did them one at a time .

I have heard on multiple occasions the rear coils are side spacific though .

Hope this helps you sir .

Love the user name by the way !

Sorry to keep hi-jacking this thread but I went and looked at mine again. It looks like your sway bar link is at a different angle than mine. Is this something I should fix?

I've heard of people doing them in the driveway. I did mine at the auto hobby shop on my base which has a wall mounted compressor, and that was sketchy enough.
