I just bought a 2003 1500 4x4 5.7, the guy said it needed a torque clutch solenoid pack, 300 or 400 dollar repair. well today i pulled the pan on trany and aluminium chips from tiny to 1/16th chips in pan the fluid was brown with glitter. id post some pictures but im new here it wants a url what are you guys using to post pictures ? I'm pretty sure I've got replace trans, right. i even tore the filters apart and it was full of chips as well (doing its job i suppose) my question is if chips are in the pan i can assume chips are throughout the trans right. to took the shift pack apart and the screen was dirty with schmoo and chips, then i took the screen off the pack and it looked fairly clean. So i guess my question is just because my trans pan has chips does that mean i need a new trans and torque converter. 20190504_140649.jpg 20190504_144449.jpg 20190504_144452.jpg

IMO it needs a service. Replace filters, both. See what she says.
