So you see the attached build....
Less than 500 miles and ****, houston we have a water leak in the roof liner.

What? Awww you have two different head rest in the rear seats as well.

Noooooo you have engine rust as well.

Can't fault the dealership because it was a custom build. The water leaks are common per the service department. They claim it's the third break light most of the time. The rust, it's all over the show room models as well, just like the mismatched head rest. What in the unholy fok is RAM doing that allows their quality department to suck so bad?

It's not practical to rustproof every piece of metal in an engine compartment or a chassis. If metal is thick enough surface rust is no issue. You'll see that on almost every vehicle.

Bring it back to the dealer, they now know what to look for to resolve the leak since this has happened a lot. If the moisture stain can't fully be removed, they owe you a new headliner.

Your engine rust is nothing compared to how that rear axle is looking or will be in the next few months. I went to replace my sway bar last week and couldn't believe all the rust on the rear axle and diff. I spent yesterday afternoon fixing it myself so it never happens again but agree it is unconscionable that FCA would put out vehicles with crap this but I've recently noticed it is a trend with Ford, Chevy, GMC and Ram...

Without sliding under your Ram, i can tell you that there is only 1 coat of paint on your rear axle housing.
If you look at the axle housing, just inside of the springs, you will likely notice 2 places on each side where the paint has been worn off.
Those rubbed off marks are from the assembly lines cradles that hold the truck in place as it moves through the factory

The vehicles going through the assembly line, don't get wheels until almost the end of the line

There's actually a Recall/TSB for mismatched rear seats and headrests on done of the 5th gens (2019 mostly I think). See CarComplaints.com

TFL just did a review on his brand new F150 with the same rust spots on the axle. They compared a 2014 and an older one maybe 2008. The newest one had the most rust. Although the 2008 was covered in years of greese so it may have protected itself. Seems quality is going away or the effort isn't worth it 10-20 years later.
