Hi

I just bought a 2020 2500 4x4 short bed diesel. It has the 5th wheel/Gooseneck towing package OEM installed. I would like to not use a a sliding hitch because of taking in and out.

The Pullerite company has a 5th wheel/Gooseneck hitch that has 8 inches of foward or back mounting on the Goose ball.

Due to the cab and turning clearance the King pin has to be 4 inches behind of the Gooseneck mount.

Has anyone used the Pulle Rite 3900 in a 2500 short bed truck?

Right in the website they say that hitch is designed for longbed trucks.
I think you need to first consider what trailer you're towing. Some are made for short bed trucks with no special hitch. Another thing to consider is a Resse Goosebox.

The #3900 Super 5th is designed for long bed trucks, but is usable with short bed trucks with the right truck/trailer combination for those who don't mind making a larger turning radius to avoid cab contact.

I don't have much experience with the new puck systems, but if you're going to use the puck system you may have to go ahead and purchase a slider hitch. I think all the hitches built for the puck system put the king pin directly over the gooseneck ball.

That said, I have had several short-box pickup trucks, and when using the in-the-bed rails, have been able to pull several different fifth wheels without needing a slider hitch. Of course, those are probably not compatible with the puck system, so you're still kinda up a creek.

Gentlemen,

Thanks for the information on the RV hitches. I ended with the Pullrite 3900, which is the same as above except it is a RV style hitch no a total gooseneck, pulling my Grand Design 303RLS and it is OK up about 88 degrees of turn. It all good Thanks
