I had a regrind 6.1 in mine, its ok but that being said you can get more out of another cam. Danny ran a a/c 6.1 cam in his 03 for awhile and is now running a crazy spartan. The truck was much smoother on the 6.1 far as coming back to idle and no surge but the power band was higher up and more flat.

Not with the 260, it will run good, on a superchips, better with a custom tune but everything runs better when its tailored to your vehicle

In all honesty though I wouldn't think cams until you get the supporting mods done

come to a weds meet and drive my truck. youll see how obedient the 260 is. it runs fine on a 91 performance superchips tune. i have stock gearing and torque convertor. im upgrading gears and convetor merely because i want to run a hellfire cam later on.

Srt max cam is not a good choice for a truck unless you are stroked, even then you are needing to be an all out drag truck. I agree with them a comp 260 would be a good choice or a Crazy Spartan on a 114 lsa. Set a goal for what you want out of the truck and work from there.

Completely agree. Set a goal as to what you want it to do and how you want it to run and build off that

Think about where your rpms normaly stay at or as high as your willing to rev the motor and that will be a good start. Some cams start dipping out of power earlier then others, others wont make power till higher up. A few cams you can run with a stock verter, others will be dogs till you bump up the stall.

you can run any cam with stock converter or stock gearing.. its not a requirement more of a mod that will compliment and help better accommodate the bigger cams.

anything below a 260/sidewinder spec'd cam will be better utilized with a higher converter
