I'm looking for an aggressive sound for my truck but dont want it to sound like a race car at idle.

to the op.. I also second (or 3rd) the comp 260...it's been a strong cam..a safe cam, a pcm friendly cam. Only need a canned tune to run it. To suggest an SRTMax cam for what she needs is overkill...you need alot of aggressive complimenting mods to make it worthwhile, not to mention custom tuning... even I'm afraid of that cam and i do have lotsa mods..

the 260 sounds good. when you did your switch, did you do new rods and lifters? is it needed?

You will need 6.1 pushrods, 6.1 valve springs, new cam bolt, new crank bolt. Depends if you pull your heads or not you would need new head askets and bolts along with header gaskets unless you leave the header attached. Will also need new fluids and depending on the milage on your engine might suggest a new timing chain tensioner. Hit us up or make a thread and a few of us on here have dived into these motors.

Up to you on the tensioner my first cam went in with that amount of miles and the tensioners were good, second cam change it needed it.

Hahahaha so I was thinkin about this again today... need yall's help again.

What do I need as far as supporting mods with the comp 260?

Is there any other option for a mild cam without having to change TC and etc?

Is the 6.1 cam a bad cam to go with, or no?

I've heard for scsb the 6.1 would be better. And you would have to upgrade your valve springs, pushrods, head bolts, and cam bolts. I think that's all. I would install those headers you've had for a while now ;) . That would complete it I think lol

Droid Incredible 2 on the move!!!

260, Sidewinder, Crazy Jay, Crazy Spartan, 6.1 Regrind, all will (or at least should) work on a SC tune. You will need to do the 6.1 Springs and push rods (unless you do a regrind then you might need custom length push rods), cam and crank bolt. If you pull the heads then you need new head bolts, gaskets etc.

I think the 6.1 cam would be last on my list of choices for a cam, there are just so many better cams out there

I worry about the A/F being lean with long tubes and cam on just a SC tune. Make sure a 180* tstat goes in also. To be safe I would recomend you getting a wideband also to monitor the A/F and see if you need to go to a cust tune. All of the ones listed above are good cams just depends what the end goal for the truck would be.

Yeah A/F and Knock would bother me not knowing what it was doing with the SC. I thought I read somewhere that the 260 ran rich, but that may have been from another post that the guy was tuning it out.
