^ This. Zero trouble 5,000-9,000ft up for me. The only thing that is a letdown are the brakes. Gonna get some heavy duty brakes on next spring.
Did you use 'Heavy Electric' on the tow settings?

Also, downshift the trans when goin down hill.

If your relying heavily on the brakes coming down in altitude your doing it wrong. Either set the cruise control slower and/or manually downshift with the Tow/Haul mode engaged.

Drove across Kansas to Rocky Mountains. Yes loss in power is noticable. However no problems pulling 7600lbs up the mountain. Yes it is slow but I feel safe. 66rfe did not heat up. Same temp. Throughout the adventure. I think this hemi produces when asked and gets the job done.

Everyone is in such a hurry to get anywhere. A 6.4 tows great, you're just not gonna win any races or pass many gas stations with it.

OP is in Texas - which from what I recall seems to be pretty flat. Maybe the far western portion has some mountains. But his location says he's near Dallas. Tallest thing around him is likely going to be a parking ramp. So unless he's MOVING to the mountains I really don't see where adding boost would help him much.
Have you ever seen the Dallas mixmaster! That suckers high

410 gears. Make the 6.4 come alive, best for towing as well as using tow haul mode, and UAE non ethanol fuel when in mountains. More btu burn means more hp.

3.83 gears towing a 30 foot fifth wheel. 8 Speed Transmission spends most of the time in 6th gear and will not hold the speed limit, any small incline and it will jump down to 5th or 4th (Average elevation 6000 ft). This a Stock 2022 6.4 with 14K miles on it. Engine is in perfect running order (empty this truck is almost like a hot rod)
Before you go off on a tangent thinking about aftermarket add-ons, have you had the engine diagnosed to see if it is making all of its parameters? This perceived problem could be as simple as a bad MAP sensor.

I would recommend having a good diagnostician with a good scan tool do an health evaluation first.

We just returned from a trip in Northern New Mexaco and had some fairly high grades to climb that was almost 8000 elevation. Pulling a 34 foot Rockwood Travel Trailer with my 2019 Ram Laramie 4x4 1500 with 5.7 and 3.92 gears. It pulled the load fine with it keeping up with speed limit. I can't believe a 2500 with a 6.4 didn't have any power. My trailer loaded weights 8 k.

Oh really, why is that? What proof do you possibly have to say he needs a bigger truck? or are you just parroting the chorus of the payload police?

I think Alex Ortiz was tongue in cheek with his comment LOL. Hard to tell on the webz sometimes.

After all, you can never have too much truck. I’ve thought about a class 8 for a DD. Mainly because of the careless drivers here in FL (most of whom are imported).
Way too many people like to blindly throw that "you need a bigger truck" line out any time a 1500 is mentioned towing without any knowledge of the set up. Just because some has a bigger truck doesn't mean they're any safer towing, there's probably more idiots that blindly tow whatever with a 2500/3500 than 1500s.

Don't settle for any old Class 8 either, you'll want Michigan Special with a tri-axle.

This is true. My 34' travel trailer could easily be pulled by a properly set up 1500, I mean it only has a 7500 lb GVW - it's a really light camper. Personally I prefer pulling it with something bigger just because a heavier tow vehicle just plain controls the load better, but it can be done and likely is.
