Hello all, I wanted to communicate my experience with my 2014 Ram 2500 with the 6.4L engine. I was one of the lucky ones to have purchased the truck with an engine that had the wrong wrist pins installed when the motor was built. I purchased the truck Certified Pre-Owned with only 8,000 miles on it and a 7 yr / 70,000 mile warranty. (6 yr / 60,000 factory, additional through extended). The “Hemi Knock” always seemed too loud when the engine was cold and just started and I tried different oil / Molly additives to make it better, but to no avail. Finally at 63,000 miles I brought the Service Bulletin regarding the wrist pins to the local dealer and after a lengthy evaluation and engine tear down, the dealer installed a whole new engine that cost me $100 for the deductible.
The service guys were great, communicated status through the whole process and showed me the damaged parts (aside from the wrist pins, a broken ring and scored cylinder wall).

I plan on having the truck for years to come and when the day comes, won’t hesitate to purchase another RAM truck!
