When I first crank my truck up cold. I just started hearing a whistle sound when I put it in gear and engine rpms drop from load. Goes away if I put it back in park or neutral or touch gas pedal and bring rpms up. I thought it was belt squeal to begin with but eliminated that and still hear it. Truck just turned 50000 miles any ideas on where else to look?

Would a vacuum leak go away once it warms up? Also just changed exhaust from muffler back and we checked as much as we could see. I couldn't see all the bolts on manifolds and it was already warmed up. Once I got to muffler shop. Guess I'll have to pull the wheel liners out so I can see all of the manifolds.

If it whistles when it isn't moving and the belts and pulleys are good, I can't see it be anything but the vacuum or exhaust system. Maybe upload a youtube of the sound.

As said before

Mine only does it in winter months. I have directly related mine to the air intake or throttle body having cold dense air passing it.m. The intensity changes with the gas peddle.

My ranger did it with a CAI too.
