Doing an engine replacement on a 2020 ram 2500 (6.4L) due to MDS Lifter, Rocker arm, Cam Shaft Failure. I have a brand new Long block. Wanted to reuse my intake manifold. The service manual calls for replacing the intake manifold due to catastrophic engine failure. This does not make sense to me. Would anyone be able to explain? Thanks.

It's a plastic intake, and if any hot parts get spit back into it,they'll melt into the manifold, and could cause you issues down the road if they fall back out of the intake. I think you kill your new engines warrenty if you don't replace the intake manifold. In some respects you're better off buying a new crate engine then a long block.
Used to be the Grand Waggoneers 6.4 intake was cheaper then the truck 6.4 intake, they're identical, but i'm not sure if that's still the case,as everybody caught onto it,and i also think Ma Mopar did to,and they increased the price of the Grand Waggoneers intake manifold to match the trucks manifold price wise

Spray a bunch of throttle body cleaner in it,then take it over to your local coin-op car wash and wash the hell out of the inside of the intake with the soap function, then rinse it with the rinse cycle, take it home and blow as much water out of it as you can with compressed air, then use a really good light and extendable mirror to look the inside over for any specs of metal stuck to the inside of it.That's if buying a new intake is gonna blow your budget
