Glad they ditched that.
Me too. I am stuck with one. Anxiously awaiting details on the CP4 recall, as to how they intend to replace this piece of dung. Word is the current CP3 requires changing the timing case, which is no small project, and opens the door to all sorts of oil leaks when techs working flat-rate rush through it. I am hoping they have developed an adaptor similar to what S&S and Industrial Injection have for their CP3 conversions.

I am at 52K and holding my breath hoping the glitter bomb doesn't go off before the recall can be accomplished. I hope whatever morons at Ram and Cummins are responsible for this black eye are happy with themselves.

Chrysler was asking those questions about warm up before we drove. The dealership is doing the tear down this weekend. I asked the dealership to send me the pictures so I know what happened. I will post them here when I get them. Besides, what is an adequate time to warm up with temps in the 80s to 90’s?
It's not about time it's about temperature. Design temp is 140 F. I very very rarely idle to warm up. Instead I run easy until the temp is over 140. Did that with my diesel boats also.

Here is the latest;

Engine tear down was completed and after many calls to both Ram Care and the dealership, they were kind enough to replace the engine. After receiving the motor, they forgot to sent the torque converter so here I am driving a caravan and no truck. My camper need to be serviced because of a broken window and other issues. I pointed out that they are spending more money on this compared to just giving me another truck. I’m so over this!

Nope. Even offered to upgrade to a 3500 and pay the difference.

does some of the pictures show the crankshaft with a busted rod or what happened to the engine? looks like a major failure for sure.. at least you get a new motor and it sucks this take so long to do. would be nice to get a "bill of rights" that requires the manf to replace the truck with a new like model and rebuilt/replace on their dime and time.

Here is what failed. I just got my truck back last week with a new motor and torque converter. 26E84EE4-F541-408F-8D28-6F3DBF2A180D.jpeg5941F094-465B-4D2B-AE8C-8F0E2E1AA7A3.jpeg

This is a failure more specifically to the 2019+ when they changed the block casting and went to hydraulic lifters. Apparently tolerance is too tight on the rod bearings and they seize.
Did the dealer mention it had a broken rod?
