So my ball joints have been bad for about a year and a half now... so we are definitely replacing it. My dad and I are also definitely doing a lift kit while we have the whole front end taken apart. It has been a toss up between getting a 6 inch lift or a 3 inch lift... but I think we are deciding on a 6 inch kit.
I love the look of the 6 in kit on a standard cab short bed, so I think it will for sure be a nice addition to my truck.
So when it goes in the shop. (kinda mad because I wanted to install it myself
but my dad feels it better to have a shop do it because the sheer amount of parts we are getting installed at one time) I will be getting a rough country 6 in kit, Moog upper control arms, Moog lower ball joints, and bushings for the lower control arm.
I still have a few questions though...
1. do I need longer control arms? someone in a video said that they used longer control arms... I didn't think you had to... I was going to get the factory replacement control arms from Moog.
2. are their any other parts that I am missing that you think need to be replaced as well?
3. will I need a steering stabilizer right away? I know for 7in or higher it is highly recommended to get one right away, but can I get away with buying and installing one down the road?
4. what company bushings do you guys recommend? I was thinking Moog since I am getting their control arms and ball joints.
and anything else you feel the need to add by all means the more information the better!
Thanks in advance!
Chris
