So my ball joints have been bad for about a year and a half now... so we are definitely replacing it. My dad and I are also definitely doing a lift kit while we have the whole front end taken apart. It has been a toss up between getting a 6 inch lift or a 3 inch lift... but I think we are deciding on a 6 inch kit.

I love the look of the 6 in kit on a standard cab short bed, so I think it will for sure be a nice addition to my truck.

So when it goes in the shop. (kinda mad because I wanted to install it myself  but my dad feels it better to have a shop do it because the sheer amount of parts we are getting installed at one time) I will be getting a rough country 6 in kit, Moog upper control arms, Moog lower ball joints, and bushings for the lower control arm.

I still have a few questions though...
1. do I need longer control arms? someone in a video said that they used longer control arms... I didn't think you had to... I was going to get the factory replacement control arms from Moog.

2. are their any other parts that I am missing that you think need to be replaced as well?

3. will I need a steering stabilizer right away? I know for 7in or higher it is highly recommended to get one right away, but can I get away with buying and installing one down the road?

4. what company bushings do you guys recommend? I was thinking Moog since I am getting their control arms and ball joints.

and anything else you feel the need to add by all means the more information the better!

Thanks in advance!
Chris

The Moog upper and lower ball joints are fine. I also recommend replacement of your tie rod ends, front wheel bearings if your truck has high milage, also Highly recommend Russel stainless steel Brake lines that are longer. When you get the lift kit install your stock brake lines aren't long enough if you bend the brackets like they tell you to do. Also watch your CV angles. The Rough Country lift is really Not a 6" lift its more of a 4" or 5" max. Rough country only Drops your font diff down 4" If your CV angles are too steep they ware out sooner and all so mess up your front diff. Flatter is better. I would recommend Zone off road for a lift it over Rough country in the $1200 price range.

Looks like you got everything you need 2 get r done i installed the same kit on mine last year. The shocks do suck terribly tho... I also didnt have to mess with the brake lines but upper and lower balljoints were shot to ****.

And if your running the same 305/55/20s and stock backspaced rims your going to need to get sum spacers for the front or the tire will rub on the control arm and you cant drive it. Ran into that problem myself and picked up some 1/4 spacers for the front.
