Okay,

I know I talked about looking at a Roadrunner and then a 40 Dodge Business coupe that I found....of course asking more money than what I can afford. But I did check Marketplace the other day and found a 61 Chrysler Imperial listed locally to me.

It's all there, the trim, wheel covers and the like. Guy says it runs but needs brakes. Doesn't look too bad. Cheap enough too. Would think it would be a cool cruizer I'll get some pics if I can.

From what I understand and checked out, it has the 413 Wedge in it.
Had a friend, back in the early 70'ss, had a 64 New Yorker with the fabled 413 unda the hood

I think that year you could even get a cross ram 413 in an Imperial
From what I can tell, the Cross Ram setup was more for the 300 letter cars to get the HP up. The Cross Fire Hemi's were dropped in favor of the B/RB engines because they were lighter and cheaper to produce...But....haha, it would be cool to have one of those Cross Ram setups in an Imperial.

I had a 1963 Imperial LeBaron years ago, which is basically the same car as the 1961 minus the tail fins. It was a neat car, it had all kinds of cool features like seek and scan radio (you could change radio stations with a foot button), auto high beams, cruise control, power everything, and a lighters and ashtrays everywhere. It was a huge car, the 413 had 340 HP if I remember correctly, so it had more than enough power. I think the OP would have fun with the '61, and you won't see others everywhere you go for sure.

I wouldn't mess with the motor if it runs...just tune it up and drive it.
