So I purchased the heater a/c module part number 68268186AA since I have a 7 speed fan. It shows up on the screen that the heater is working but it doesn't do anything. Everything else with the radio works fine but it sure would be nice to have a working heater/ac again! I checked the wiring harness with the diagram in the 8.4 diy thread and it's all good. Any help getting this sorted out would be appreciated!

Edit: I can even hear the blend door move when I change the functions. It's really just the blower that is not working.

Did you double check the wire on the wire you had to depopulate from the connector? Also check the ground wire you had to run to the body.

I did not do either of those. Does it show doing that in the 8.4 diy thread? I figured that was for 4 to 7 speed only?

Sorry, I read it you put that in for the 7 speed fan. Someone that's done it needs to chime in.

You'll get better response if you post in the sticky though.

Your module is a good part #

I'm a bit confused here , on the conversion thread via P.M. conversations with yourself & Mpgrimm2 , it's mentioned that you may have initially used the 4 speed conversion harness on your 14 , 7 speed system?

If that is in fact the case :

1) obtain the proper 7 speed conversion harness from the harness connection or getupkid over on the Z

2) Test the A/C & heater , if it still doesn't work then replace the HVAC Module ( it's likely damaged internally )
3) any HVAC module that is listed in post #2 of the conversion thread will work ; however, it's been documented on the Z a while back the module p/n 68183973(AB) has had issues .
This is a screenshot of post #2

Hope this helps Sir , good luck !

I've got a new module on the way. I'd be curious to ship my first module to somebody to have them try it to see if it really is bad.

Did you check your conversion harness to make sure it is pinned correctly and all the connections are secure? There have been problems in the past with people getting harnesses that were defective. Just something you might want to check if you haven't already.

Yes I checked the harness with the diagram posted in the 8.4 diy thread and it checked out good.

Did you use a multimeter to make sure you had continuity between the pins? I only ask because if you have a pin with a bad connection it could cause the problem you are having. People have had had this issue in the past. It could very well be the module just trying to cover all bases.

Good question. I did not check with multimeter. What's the best way? Leave one side plugged into truck?

If you want someone to test it, I can do it for you. I can also send you a known good harness connection (short) 7 speed harness to test with. PM me if interested.
