8.4 with nav

Looking to buy a 8.4 off of car-part.com. Do they come with the navigation or do you tjen have to have dealer install it?

The RA4 is the one you want it comes with nav and other features like real time traffic the part number on the back is VP4 NA. Try to get one from a 14 or a 15. The 2015 model actually has features that the 13 and 14 don't have. Make sure it is out of a Ram and get the donor trucks Vin#.....do NOT get the VP4 CA the CA stands for Canada also do NOT get the RA3 that is the unit without Nav

what does the 15 come with that the 13-14 dont?

The 15 has album art as well as changeable background themes and a tag button to purchase songs which we can't use because we are not Uconnect customers. The album art is pretty cool. The 15 also has updated maps. I have a 14 and just updated my maps to the same maps the 15 has.

how hard is it to actually change out the u connect 5.0 with the 8.4 system?

It is a very easy process to swap the radio, maybe 15 minutes if you know what your doing. Takes a few hours to build the harness though... There is another thread on this site that gives the step by step or I can help you out.
