Just got my truck, never had anything uconnect in my life. Feel like I should be prepared if something happens.

I looked through all of the paperwork, books etc. I don't have a radio code.

Are these susceptible to requiring a radio code just if the battery dies? Or is needing a code just for transfer?
Searching, what I find are swaps that require a code, but i haven't found anything related to a battery dying and asking for a code. Just want to make sure so I won't be pulling my (the little remaining) hair out in a pinch.

Probably a question for the dealer. Fwiw, I've been through several batteries and have never needed a code.

The radio info is written to the truck computer at factory install. even if you lost power, it'll still retain. however, if you swap the radio for another.. then you will need a radio code. Some dealers would be nice enough to give it to you for free while others wont.
