OK - here's another odd situation (I think). In my 2013 Longhorn, I listen to SXM on my way to work. I turn the truck off while the radio is tuned to SXM and start my day. At the end of the day I get back in my truck and start it up and now the radio is on FM. Shouldn't it remember that I was on SXM? It doesn't always do this..maybe 5 times out of 10. I contacted SXM and the customer service people had never heard of this happening. They sent the issue to one of their engineering people. However, my guess is that it's nothing to do with SXM - but some sort of bug in the "wonderful" 8.4AN radio I have. Anyone else experience this? Is this normal??

My radio does the exact same thing. I always listen to XM and always leave the radio tuned to XM but I would say about 75% of the time when I get in my truck and start it, the radio is on FM. I always assumed its just set to do that. Never really considered that it might be a problem so I have no idea why it happens, but it happens to me too.

Glad to know I'm not alone. Do you have the 8.4AN too? I'll let you know what SXM says when (if) they call me back after consulting with their engineering folks.

I do not, just the A. But yeah I would really appreciate that, thanks! Hopefully they'll be able to help you out soon.

The SXM engineers called me today and said since the radio receives satellite signal when it's powered on and off - that it is a hardware problem (what a shock). Their engineers are saying that when the ignition is turned off it disconnects power from the radio and "resets it" so it starts back up on FM mode. This makes sense and likely explains why my radio says INSERT SD CARD or INSERT USB CARD every time I turn on the radio (even though the SD and USB cards are already inserted.)

Guess I'll wait for Chrysler corporate or my dealer to let me know when ANOTHER new version of the 8.4AN is available. I'm on my 2nd radio and the guys tell me that there have already been 3 revisions. I don't know about anyone else, but I sure expected a helluva lot better quality for $50K. Oh well...

Geez man that's really rough, I'm sorry you've had to go through so much BS with you're radio. Do you think an update like the previous one (downloaded from online) could fix the issue? Or would it require physically installing a new unit in the truck?
