I have a BullyDog on the way. Supposedly the latest update allows for the 8 speed. Once it gets here, I will post up some feedback...there are other posts on here regarding some others that already have them installed.

See you are from Odessa? Great to have another Permian member on here...

Like mentioned, the Bullydog will work with your 8 speed. I did have a customer with an 8 speed call on Friday saying that BD had to update his tuner for him, but once the tune was loaded, he was very happy with the performance. Make sure you also pick up a catch can when you install your tuner so that you can get the most out of the tune.

Just wondering, how would a catch can make the most of a tuner? I know it ensures that there isn't a build up of oil in the engine..but I didn't think it would do anything for power?

A big part of why tuners make power is because of an increase in timing which also requires more fuel. This is why you have 87, 89, 91, and 93 octane tunes. Without a catch can, that oil will mix with your fuel in the intake manifold which lowers the overall octane rating of the fuel. So if you are running a 91 octane tune with 91 octane fuel, you may only be seeing 89 octane after the oil is mixed in. This lower octane rating will likely cause detonation which translates into a loss of power.

To anyone running a tuner without a catch can, I always recommend running 1 grade of fuel higher than what the tune calls for. With the catch can installed, you can run the same octane fuel that the tune calls for.

I have the catch can already installed as well, so it will show the benefit of both mods together....I will shoot you a PM when I get it all installed...
