Improved Racing has some nice stuff if you're looking at adding a stand alone oil cooler Dan.This is why it finally had to be done. February in Texas.Still have to get a oil cooler then it might be safe.View attachment 583626
They have these 2,that are probably close to what you want. If it was me,i'd go for the one that stablizes at about 205,that gives you a bit of leeway for towing or working the engine hard,it goes to full flow mode at 221.Thanks you I am juggling the b&m with thermo controlled fan but I like the temps to get above 180 for engine oil so I will check them out.
| FSM-205 | 205ºF (96ºC) | 200ºF (93ºC) | 221ºF (105ºC) | Engine Oil (Street & Strip) |
| FSM-215 | 215ºF (102ºC) | 212ºF (100ºC) | 233ºF (112ºC) | Engine Oil (Road Racing) |
Hey Wild One, I see you hooked up Dan Topp on the trans t-stat. I like his results. I do no towing but want the tranny to last. Currently runs 186 to just under 200F in stop and go traffic. I will be having a trans service in about 5K (have 49500 miles now). Do I buy this part strictly from a Jesse Caulks web site, summit etc...? I found the part at a site called Improved Racing for $199. Also what temperature rang t-stat am I looking for?Improved Racing has some nice stuff if you're looking at adding a stand alone oil cooler Dan.
Their oil thermostats have one of the better reps in the industry

This is the distributor for the @caulk04 transmission cooler bypass valve and aluminum plug (purchase both).
Only use MOPAR or Valvoline MaxLife fluid, and follow this green-sheet instruction list to a "T"!!!
Extremely important!!!!!
Will do, thank you.

Just have good snap ring pliers and a replacement ready since the kit doesn’t provide a snap ring.....
Did you re-use the old snap ring (if there is one, I'm not sure, never done this job)? Just asking because I have the kit sitting on my bench. Gonna order the PPE pan and fluid soon to do this job. Do I need to also buy a specific snap ring? Thanks..............
