Thanks to a tip from Wild one I bought the bypass and the trans temps are hard to believe but what’s harder is that I was so stupid to put 40 k on a new truck that is stupidly designed to cook the oil and itself.Did the 119” belt and brakes and rotors too.IMG_1303.jpegIMG_1295.jpegIMG_1283.jpegIMG_1270.jpegIMG_1273.jpegIMG_1282.jpegIMG_1276.jpegIMG_1278.jpeg

I've seen Jesse's bypass on some of the YouTube Ram videos, "10 things to do to your Ram", etc.

His bypass is listed as beneficial.

They do not show a picture of it, though. They also show other engines and parts that are not Rams.

Improved Racing has some nice stuff if you're looking at adding a stand alone oil cooler Dan.
Their oil thermostats have one of the better reps in the industry

Thanks you I am juggling the b&m with thermo controlled fan but I like the temps to get above 180 for engine oil so I will check them out.
They have these 2,that are probably close to what you want. If it was me,i'd go for the one that stablizes at about 205,that gives you a bit of leeway for towing or working the engine hard,it goes to full flow mode at 221.

I was bragging early about my caddy having low trans temps .Doing some light towing on a trip to Newport state park and half into the trip the trans is 185 hope it doesn’t get worse it only has 6900 miles on it and I wanted to wait till 10k to change the oil.image.jpg

I eliminated the coolant flow to the transmission heat exchanger on my '15 SLT. My trans takes a good bit to heat up.

After cruising a fair bit in the afternoon, I start seeing 180° trans temps. Sometimes it will only be 140° or less after my ~25 mile commute to work.

I do have one of Jesse's bypass kits and a PPE pan to install, but have not had time (or energy) lately. I also want to get some more juice so I can do a drain and fill before I swap the pan, but might just have to do it later.

Hey Wild One, I see you hooked up Dan Topp on the trans t-stat. I like his results. I do no towing but want the tranny to last. Currently runs 186 to just under 200F in stop and go traffic. I will be having a trans service in about 5K (have 49500 miles now). Do I buy this part strictly from a Jesse Caulks web site, summit etc...? I found the part at a site called Improved Racing for $199. Also what temperature rang t-stat am I looking for?

Do Jesse's bypass,it's all you really need to take alot of heat out of the fluid.

This is the distributor for the @caulk04 transmission cooler bypass valve and aluminum plug (purchase both).

Only use MOPAR or Valvoline MaxLife fluid, and follow this green-sheet instruction list to a "T"!!!
Extremely important!!!!!

Just have good snap ring pliers and a replacement ready since the kit doesn’t provide a snap ring.....

Did you re-use the old snap ring (if there is one, I'm not sure, never done this job)? Just asking because I have the kit sitting on my bench. Gonna order the PPE pan and fluid soon to do this job. Do I need to also buy a specific snap ring? Thanks..............

You should be able to reuse the existing snap ring, as per the installation directions.
You can download them from the distributor's site.
