OK I can't find a whole lot on this so I'll just ask. Has anybody else done the zip kit? I just ordered it from mine because I'm insane with preventative stuff. Just curious if it at all feels different.

I looked at the Zip Kit a few years ago,but never did order it,so i'm curious how it pans out for you.Keep us updated on your thoughts and findings.OK I can't find a whole lot on this so I'll just ask. ^^^ this exactlyI don't imagine there's any need for it until there's an issue.
That’s not a truck part. The trucks thermal is attached to the side. Quite a few of us have bypassed the thermostat or completely removed the heater. I have all the parts to install a 140° inline thermal block to help keep the temp where I want it. I like 145-150° trans temp. My truck seems happiest there and my butt dyno says that it shifts better in the 140° range. Also my truck seems to shift higher after I get above 140°. Im not sure if you remember @Wild one when I was asking about my truck not shifting at the programmed shift point but I’ve noticed it seems more likely not to short shift when the trans is hotter above the 140° mark. Wish I had the money to buy an FRP cam and switch to HP tuners for FRP. Probably be next years Christmas gift to myself.Thank you for the link I found this browsing the site and found it interesting

Hemi fever has mine set at 6200 across the board but most times it shifts between 5500-5600 unless I’m going from a dead stop. After 140° it seems to shift more around 6000-6200. But I think that’s something to do with the way Sean does the trans tuning. He doesn’t really adjust to many parameters. Just up’s the shift point and bumps up line pressure to make the shifts snappier. I know FRP and a few others actually go in the shift tables and adjust other parameters as well but that requires HP tuners to get more in depth. When I talked to Tapp he said the same thing about adjusting other parameters as well but using HP tuners. I’m guessing in one of the tables there is a temp range for warmup that pertains more to the cars for shifting that the trucks don’t usually reach on stock form and it needs adjusting. Just a guess. I know Matt ficak uses hemi fever and Matt said his trucks reacts just like mineA good transmission tune really wakes the 8 speed up Khris. Mine still shifts the same as before we deleted the thermal unit and thermostat, but my shift points are set at roughly 6100/6200 for the 1-2 shift / 6300/6400 rpm for the 2-3 shift and 6500/6600 for the rest of the shift points which is considerably higher then the stock 5600 rpm shift points. The shift points are commanded at the lower rpm,but by the time the transmission makes the complete shift they're about a 100 rpm higher then commanded
As soon as HP started servicing the Dodge market i dropped Diablo and went to HP.Still have my old T1000 in the truck for the gauges and to clear codes, but that's it,lol. Jon Sipple and Jeremy Satera are probably 2 of the top transmission tuners around, but Ryan/FRP isn't far behind them.Hemi fever has mine set at 6200 across the board but most times it shifts between 5500-5600 unless I’m going from a dead stop. Short shifting is bad. My truck is programmed to shift at 6200 under full throttle but a parameter somewhere is telling my truck to shift earlier than programmed. Usually it’s due to a table that didn’t get adjusted or a safety parameter that wasn’t disabled since factory this engine wasn’t designed to spin over 5600rpm. Also that is still not for the truck. @caulk04 is the one who sells the truck bypass. Nobody else does currently.Or they have this one instead

Wonder how much they’re asking ?
My 5.7 “short shifts” better under load with higher octane fuel, notability non-ethanol fuel.
That's for the 6 speeds with the thermostat. My old 6 speed 2013 had that thermostat,i totally deleted it.Or they have this one instead

Part number matches on the second oneThey're on the right track keeping things simple like I do with my thermostat eliminator. But as mentioned none of them are for the 8hp Rams. Mine fits all 8hps that came factory in a 1500 Ram. To my knowledge they're the only ones that have a heat exchanger plumbed with engine coolant.
That's for the 6 speed trucks, won't fit your truck if you have the 8 speed.Read the fitment notes at the bottom, says it's for the 6 speed 65RFE. That thermostat will be behind the grill towards the upper side of the A/C condensor on the pass side of the truck, you can see it if you look through the grill. The 8 speeds in the 1500's uses a totally differant set-up,that's mounted to the side of the transmission
