So I have had my super chips for quite a while but only ever had it on 87 octane, and normally getting the 89 octane. I was wondering if the 91 octane on a 4.7 has noticeable changes in hp, mpg, torque etc. I am willing to fill up on 91 octane or almost to try it out but I am wondering if it's worth it. All the performance mods I have are a cai, tbs and a exhaust. Thanks guys for the input

With the hemi its a noticeable increase. It move the powerband more towards the mid to top instead of down lower. Also gives a MPG increase as well. Again this is all on the hemi, bit I would think it be the same on the 4.7 as well. Same concept really.

It should add more timing to the ignition giving ya a few more hp and making the truck work alill less harder.

Just be sure you do a full tank of 91 before swapping the tune. No 50/50 or changing the tune AND THEN going to get the gas. Do t want to harm anything.

Think it would be that bad to make sure all the 89 is gone by letting her skip once then getting gas?

Nah just drop it down to an 1/8th of a tank and fill her up. You just don't want to do half a tank or so of one and half the other.

Sorry I'm late to this but superchips actually add a pretty big number to 4.7
I didn't sliver it but I went searching and it was upwards of 25hp on the 91 tune

If his 09 is stock yours should have 2 more hp with the superchips according to there website lol
They say 236 hp with the 91 tune on your truck and the 09 are 234 stock and 247 with a tune

My brothers 03 Dakota barely made that with HO cams, JBA headers, High flow dual in/single out cat, Magnaflow muffler, a 2008 intake, and Superchips 91. Stock 99-07 4.7 standard output puts down about 180 RWHP with Superchips 91 making around 195 hp to the wheels. The stock 07 4.7 Ram that superchips tested barely made 220 ft/lbs of torque and only 240 ft/lbs on the 91 tuning.
