Hello, I own a low mileage (81k) 1996 5.2 318 1500, I am getting ready to change my plugs. I see a lot of varying opinions online on what spark plugs to buy, Autolite 3923/3924 come up a lot, stock champions, NGK comes up..

What is the best plug to buy to replace my old ones, my engine is not modified, bone stock. What is the gap? Should I go ahead and replace the wiring, distributor cap/rotor as well? Can I get away with just changing plugs or no?

Hey Dredger, appreciate it, just curious why the people use different plugs than the standard (RCY12). However I think I will just go with them. Thank you.

I have owned Mopar for decades. I tried other plugs, always ended up going back to the OEM plug, which is Champion. They just seem to run better, get better gas mileage and have fewer problems when running Champion in them.

Make sure you don't buy plugs off Amazon. Over 60% are counterfeit, especially when buying the higher end Iridium and Platinum plugs. Rock Auto Rocks if you don't have a good local supplier.

Wow, didn't know that. I will try to avoid Amazon and Ebay, or any third party sites. Rock Auto I've heard good things about. Will keep that in mind.

I will be ordering through Advance Auto Parts, I have a little over 175$ worth of money on a gift card through them. Replacing starter and water pump as well, so at least it doesn't sting as bad come time to buy.
