So the TSB includes build dates up to July 2020. My truck's build date is 10/2020 and is not in this TSB. My question is, has anything been changed on the HVAC system since July or will there likely be a second round for later build dates?

Thanks! Mine was built in March 2020 and I’ve got the issues described in this TSB. I’ll let it warm up a bit and take it in.

Finally!!! I sold my last 2019 2500 because of the horrific AC performance and the inability to keep heat out of the cab.

Agree with taking it in to get it documented but I do not think parts will be available till July 2021. Also, reading what is involved in installing the new parts, seems like a good bit of things will have to be taken apart. :(

I’ve got an appointment for January 5th to get this taken care of. It will take a couple days and parts are on order for the repair.

I’ll get a rental so I’m hoping for a Charger or Challenger but who knows. Maybe they’ll toss me the keys to the Power Wagon on the lot. Not likely, but you never know...lol. I’ll post up how it goes.

Looks like my truck qualifies for this too. I'm curious how you make out with the fix. Thanks.

How could I tell if my truck qualifies for this? I have all the sxs stated, but it's a 2019 Tradesman 6.4L 2500. I know it listed 2019-2020 but seems like every time I go to RAM for something and it states 2019-2020 they say my truck isn't affected....

Check your build date. Call your dealer and ask if the TSB applies.

So, looking into the repair and sub-repairs, this is going to take about five shop hours to complete and part of the dash and interior have to come apart to complete the repair.

- The HVAC housing has to be removed which requires the removal and reinstall action of various interior components depending on your equipment. The entire dash does not have to be removed.

- The HVAC system needs to be recovered
- This requires removal of the front floor vents
- This requires removal of the glove box and lower dash trim / kick molding
- If equipped, the center console has to come out to gain access to the blower / heater assembly and wiring
- The PCM may need to be removed for clearance if needed

- The heater core has to be removed and replaced with an updated unit.
- This requires draining and refilling the cooling system

Reinstall new components, refill coolant system, recharge HVAC system and test.

I dropped mine off today and they will diagnose and confirm tomorrow and hopefully get it back Friday.

I got this wicked Dodge as a loaner...

Update... I got the truck back this afternoon and the A/C is ICE COLD.

I didn’t need the updated HVAC housing as mine passed all the tests.

After a battery of tests the shop foreman had the system evacuated and drew a vacuum on it for a few minutes. The system was recharged to proper spec and tested within specs.

I’m happy as I wasn’t thrilled about tearing the dash apart to replace parts.

Let me know how you guys fare with your repairs.
