A/C Turning Itself On

I read a previous thread about the a/c turning itself on but the thread ended without anyone saying they found out what it was. Mine is doing the same thing but only seems to do it when it’s first started. Mine doesn’t have the climate control system and sometimes I can turn it on and back off and it will stay off and sometimes no change. The people having this problem, did you ever get it sorted out? I think it may be the clutch dragging from not having been used in a while. Just wonder if they ever figured it out. TIA

The AC system will turn itself on any time one of the defrost modes are selected. I think it turns itself on based on outside and the duct sensors differential temperature. The AC system utilized to dehumidify the air entering the cab.

Thanks for the reply and info. I checked and made sure the selector was not on defrost but on the dash vents. I didn’t know it would do it automatically on its own. Thanks again.
