A good reason not to buy off the lot in winter

I'm getting some work done on my truck today at the dealer. It's -12 out today and the dealer is starting some cars and brushing some snow off. The people starting the cars are redlining them! I could hear it from the showroom and see all the exhaust in the air.

This is just another reason that I'll order my vehicles in rather than buy off the lot.

Plus then it hasn't been test driven..because we all know how you properly test drive a vehicle lol!

yeah i've seen some scary stuff too. before Christmas i was in getting my oil changed and they had a nice new 2500 with a plow for sale. seen some kid that works there jump into it and start plowing the dealers driveway which included ramming it repeatedly into the snow bank. he kept backing up and just flooring it so he was hitting pretty hard. feel bad for anyone that ends up buying it

Well at least we don't have that issue here in TX. But I can see not buying a lot truck up in a snow area.

Makes me kinda glad mine had just arrived and was still in there pre prep lot when I bought it.But still who knows who drove it from the line to the train to the truck and off the truck and what they did to it doing that.Its a crap shoot anyway you look at it to whats been done to your "BRAND NEW TRUCK".

OP who said they still didnt do that to your order when they do the PDI?? who knows they very well could have since all vehicles have a PDI done to them if they are ordered or a lot car.

Well they could have, but honestly i doubt it. I didn't buy from the same dealer I get my service work don't from either. I bought from a guy 2 hours away lol.

Guess I should be grateful then, I haven't seen any red lining done by the employees at my dealer. Also hi Ottawa guys, I'm a former Ottawa valley guy too used to live in Petawawa when I was an army grunt I do NOT miss those winters!!

Lol, Hello all fellow O-town boys and former ones too!!! I must say, off topic a bit, that this winter we have been under the wire, our predicted "t-rex of a winter" didn't really happen. Boston and such have taken all our snow.
On the topic of the thread, there was a story going around Ottawa from years back, I think it was from the Dodge dealership that used to be on Carling Ave at the Queensway (Capital at the time)???? Anyway, as the story goes one of the lot workers was joy riding around in a new Viper and was ripping through the lot, well you can see where this is going.... and wrecked the Viper pretty bad. story goes he was fired. Lol

I used to work at Capital, but the Kanata location... That actually happened at Southbank and it was a customer test driving it, a young rich kid who's family owns a carpet store that burnt down recently on Merivale rd...

Anyway yes he wrapped that little red wagon around a telephone pole.
